et’s face it: you love climbing. Whether you have lived your life from a young age in the vertical plane or have discovered your passion for the first time, we all live for the feeling of stone under fingers, of pilgrimages expressing our appreciation for nature’s grandest architecture, and above all the glorious freedom only felt with the sun on your shoulders and the vast blue sky stretching out behind us. Climbing is such a primal duet between human and nature that it grabs hold quickly and gets under one’s skin, only to wear off layer after layer of the stuff. Whatever your reasons, you have found this site and have taken the time to read on, and for this I thank you. Now as you can most likely tell, my love of climbing has burrowed deep into my life, and there is now little that I enjoy more than my time training and climbing. That being said, I don’t proclaim that this little game is necessary to climbing in any respect. Rather I see it as a tool (hopefully an enjoyable one at that) to keep one’s climbing spirits high through the rough and lonely patches we all experience. Whether weathering a plateau in ability, hunkering down for a long winter of training, or rekindling a latent spark of the climbing bum within, sometimes we need a little push to keep us going and hopefully this can provide it. So, if you love climbing, training, and can stand a little role-playing, you might just find this useful, if not give it a try anyway (it’ll make me feel better).
